'The Walking Dead' Spoilers: Will TV Show Ever Catch Up To 'TWD' Comics? Co-EP Denise Huth Responds

The Walking Dead is currently filming Season 8. The premiere is a huge milestone because it will be the 100th episode. In an interview, co-executive producer Denise Huth spoke about the achievement. During the conversation, the chances of the television show catching up to Robert Kirkman’s comic books were also discussed. Possible TWD spoilers for the TV show and comics might be ahead. Proceed with caution if you are not caught up and do not want to know what could happen. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Denise Huth was asked if the television show could ever meet up with the comic books. Will there ever be a time when the two will be on the same storyline at the same time? The co-executive producer admitted that she doesn’t know for sure. However, she also explained that Robert Kirkman isn’t close to being done with the comics. Plus, showrunner Scott Gimple and the writers like to switch things up. So, she doesn’t think that the two will ever meet up. If they do, it will be a long time from now. “I don’t think we will really, totally catch-up. I think [Kirkman] will always stay ahead of us, and Scott likes to take a lot of detours. So we always have that roadmap to follow and we know generally where we going to get to, but he introduces a lot of things that don’t exist in the comics, like the Scavengers and Heaps, and finds a way to integrate those elements into Robert’s existing story. People ask me all the time how long the show’s going to go. I have no idea. But Robert is nowhere near done with the books so I think it would be quite some time before we were in danger of catching up to him.” As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the CEO of AMC said he is not concerned about the low ratings of Season 7. When it comes to The Walking Dead, he is confident it will keep going for a long time. So, it seems that as long as there are stories to tell, the show could keep airing for many years. ????#TWD #BTS A post shared by The Walking Dead (@amcthewalkingdead) on May 11, 2017 at 11:13am PDT Huth was also asked about the Season 8 premiere. While she would not reveal any spoilers, she did tease that there would be a lot of action and excitement. Denise revealed it will be worth the wait and when TWD returns, it will be “really, really satisfying.” Beyond the premiere episode, Season 8 will have the characters in a better position than they were last year. The cast admitted that filming Season 7 was difficult and depressing. Even though Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is still an issue, the group is going to fight for freedom. “There’s just a sense of excitement because the characters aren’t in that dark, down place. It was really hard last year. It was hard for the cast, it was hard for the crew, it was hard for all of us. It was a really essential part of the story, and I think we needed to go through that pain to have what we’re doing now be so satisfying.” Several cast members have opened up about how much they enjoy the scripts for The Walking Dead Season 8 premiere. Chandler Riggs, who plays Carl Grimes, tweeted how much he loved it. Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) and Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) have also made similar statements. Other than battling Negan and the Saviors, fans are not sure what to expect when the show returns. Hopefully, some more information will be revealed soon. Happy Birthday to Jeffrey Dean Morgan. #TWD A post shared by The Walking Dead (@amcthewalkingdead) on Apr 22, 2017 at 8:46am PDT What do you think of what Denise Huth said about The Walking Dead TV show and comics?
