Last year, NHO arranged a course for Norwegian businesses about how to do business in Russia. This course is planned to be a yearly offer to Norwegian businesses that want to know more about Russia.
From the 26th of October to the 6th November in 2009, St. Petersburg was the arena where the course for doing business in Russia was carried out. This course is planned to be once a year, with new participants each year. Also, the themes presented aim to give the participants a wide understanding about potential possibilities in the Russian market. Important subjects in this course is; how Russian business life is organized, the financial crisis, infrastructure and international cooperation. The last days of the course is used for individual meetings. There the participants can meet businesses where possible cooperation can emerge. The aim for these meetings is to create contacts in Russian businesses for business opportunities or to know more about how to operate in Russia.
The course offered by NHO is financed by Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Expenses for travel, hotel and arrangements are covered. In 2010 this course has 15 seats for employees from Norwegian businesses.
