First Aquavit session

First session of a newly-established aquavit club was held yesterday in Murmansk.

Rotary Hall of Park Inn Poliarnie Zori gathered over 40 participants of a new social club established in Murmansk. Businessmen from Norway, Russia, Finland, France and Germany toasted and sang continuously.

The opening ceremony started in Barents Bar with solemn promises to stick to the club rules and obey the despotism of the Club President 2010 – Rolf Holtermann who unanimously elected other board members: Olga Gorokhova, Svein Grande and Knut Mugaas. Ulrich Kreuzenbeck was left to enjoy the position of a security manager.

Scandinavian drinks went well together with national cuisine. Some of the guests confessed their abstinence from alcohol or dislike of aquavit, yet everyone welcomed the idea of social clubs like that. Each clubber received a diploma verifying him/her as a noble and civilized drinker of Aquavit.
