Technopark NOR. Business vs Barbecue

Two business associations – FIBA (Foreign Investors Business Association) and NBA (Norwegian Business Association) met yesterday at Innovation Norway and SIVA premises of Technopark NOR, 5 minutes drive from Murmansk airport.

The meeting gathered about 50 people from SIVA, Royal Norwegian Consulate, DnB NOR Monchebank, SpareBank 1 Nord-Norge, Reinertsen NWR, Ramboll Storvik, StatoilHydro, Innovation Norway, Norwegian-Russian Chamber of Commerce, Flight Group, Barents Logistics, Maritime logistics, and other companies.

Sunny day and welcoming premises of Technopark NOR offered a good combination for informal meetings spiced with good speakers and open-air barbecue.

The idea to gather foreign companies working in Murmansk at one place to get to know each other was born with an optimistic decision of Mr. Geir Reiersen (director general of SIVATECH AS) and Mr. Bjorn Celius (director at DnB NOR Monchebank).

Murmansk regional administration was represented by Mr. Evgeny Alexeev, a head of the regional department on foreign economic relations, who made a very promising speech saying that regional authorities lay special emphasis on foreign investments and do their best to simplify the bureaucratic routines; besides the officials are currently compiling investment portfolios of the region to have it available for presentations and forums. He also mentioned that the proposals and wishes on behalf of the foreign business are very welcome and could in due course also contribute to a better business environment in the region.
