Higher Education – A Key to Future Development in the High North

The Norwegian Centre for International Cooperation in Higher Education (SIU) is pleased to invite you to this conference in Tromsø, 21-23 January 2009, in cooperation with the University of Tromsø.

The conference aims to further develop educational cooperation taking place in the High North as well as projects dealing with issues of interest for the High North.

Key questions:
How can higher education become an even stronger driving force for development in the High North?

In what way can higher education contribute to meeting the challenges of the High North?
Speakers will include representatives from University of the Arctic, International Association of Universities and StatoilHydro, as well as leading academics from important higher education institutions in the Nordic countries, the USA, Canada, and Russia.

Participants will come from the academic sector as well as policy making bodies, the business community and others with an interest in international cooperation in the High North.

Main geographic focus is the Nordic countries of Europe, North America and Northern Russia, but the conference is also open for participants from institutions based in other countries.

Package 1: Conference 2 days, hotel 2 nights, welcome reception and conference dinner:
NOK 3700,-
Package 2: Conference 2 days exclusive hotel, included welcome reception and conference dinner: NOK 1750,-
