from the bottom of my heart, i am so so sorry. i don’t have words. — Ariana Grande (@ArianaGrande) May 23, 2017 Based on the most recent update from Greater Manchester Police chief constable Ian Hopkins cited by Hollywood Life at 2 a.m. EST, the death toll for the Manchester Arena concert bombing has risen to 22, with 59 others found to be injured. Initially, authorities who rushed to the scene believed that the incident was caused by a suicide bomber, per a report from CNN. “The attacker, I can confirm, died at the arena. We believe the attacker was carrying an improvised explosive device, which he detonated, causing this atrocity,” Hopkins told the outlet. In addition, police believe that the Ariana Grande concert bomber was acting on his own although they still haven’t ruled out the possibility of a terrorist network involved in the fatal explosion, Reuters reported. “We believe, at this stage, the attack last night was conducted by one man,” Hopkins told reporters. “The priority is to establish whether he was acting alone or as part of a network.” The concert comes prior to the scheduled Ariana Grande world tour where she was supposed to visit several countries in Europe, including England, Belgium, Poland, Germany, and Switzerland.
